Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

The year is 1999 and Lincoln O'Neill has a new job.  He works nights at a newspaper and he reads other people's email. The company has installed security software on all the computers that flags any inappropriate words. It usually takes him a hour to finish and then he has the rest of the night to plan his life. Then he reads Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder's emails to each other. He knows he should be sending them a warning but as he reads he becomes attached. Especially to Beth.

Beth has been in the same relationship since college but doesn't know if it is going anywhere. Jennifer's husband wants to have a baby but Jennifer is freaking out. As Lincoln reads about their lives he slowly starts to get his own. And maybe Beth isn't so far out of reach.

I really loved this book! It is written in emails and as a regular book. This is Rainbow's first book. Her other must reads are Eleanor and Park and Fangirl.
