Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams

Rachel Masters is a week away from finishing her junior year of college in Texas. She just needs to get through finals. Her best friend and roommate, Candice, is supposed to be studying with her but she is goofing around and trying to convince Rachel to date her cousin Blake. Rachel used to have a huge crush on Blake growing up but now that he is back in their lives he is a bit of a player and Rachel isn't feeling it. She finally agrees to go out with him. She is surprised that she enjoyed herself. But then he starts acting weird and possessive. Rachel tries to stay away but he won't let her. Then he does something unthinkable.

Logan Kash Ryan is an undercover cop in Florida. There has been a hit put out on him and his partner, Mason. They are relocated to Texas and put to work undercover to help find the Carnation killer. On there first day there, they meet there new neighbors. Kash is instantly attracted to Rachel. They become friends but Rachel isn't ready for more. As there friendship gets deeper so do their feelings and soon Rachel and Kash are in love. But nothing is ever easy. First, Kash still hasn't told Rachel who he really is. Second, Blake comes back into the picture.

This was a really great book. I enjoyed the characters and their relationships. I couldn't put it down because I had to know how it was going to end. But of course it ended on a cliffhanger! The second book is Deceiving Lies.
