Invisible by James Patterson

Ever since her sister was killed in a house fire, Emmy Dockery has been obsessed with linking a serious of unsolved cases with each other. Everything from kidnappings to rape to house fires. And she is positive her sister was murdered. No one believes her and soon she has to take a leave of absence from her FBI researcher job. But Emmy is sure there is a connection and one perpetrator.

Emmy goes to see her ex-boyfriend, ex-FBI agent, Harrison "Books" Bookman, for help. He hears her out but is skeptical But when Emmy finds real evidence, he agrees to help and uses his influence to get the FBI involved. Soon they are on the trail of a killer who has been undetected for years. But they always seem to be a step behind and he keeps killing. Will they catch him in time or will the horror never end?

I'm a big fan of Patterson's stand-a-lone stories and this one did not disappoint. It kept you thinking how can all this be connected and is Emmy really crazy. Definitely recommend this title for a suspenseful read.
