Marrying His Best Friend by Jennifer Gracen

Living near Dublin, Ireland, single parent Maura Callahan and Aidan McKinnon have been best friends since University. After her fiancee abused her while she was pregnant and subsequently abandoned them, she has been raising Chloe mostly on her own, with the help of Aidan, Chloe’s godfather.

Now Niall, her ex, is back and he wants to see his daughter. Aidan reads up on Ireland law and discovers that if Maura marries him and he adopts Chloe, Niall will have no legal rights to his child. For Aidan, marrying Maura is so much more than helping a friend, as he has been love with her since the moment they met. Maura agrees to his plan and they soon find out that their affection is mutual.

However, Maura has been independent for so long that when Niall starts threatening her, she thinks she can handle it alone. Their long held could trust could be broken when Aidan learns what Maura has been hiding.

You can almost hear the authentic Irish accents in Gracen’s (The Doctor’s Love) sweet novella and Bk.3 in The McKinnon Brothers series. The characters are emphatic, and this is a sure bet for readers wanting a feel good story that is light on intimacy and strong on heart.
