Friction by Sandra Brown

Texas Ranger Crawford Hunt is trying to get custody back of his 5 year old daughter, Georgia. When his wife died, Georgia was only 13 months old and there was no way he was capable of taking care of her. He allowed his in-laws to have custody. Now he has straightened out his act and wants his daughter back. But first he has to get through the custody hearing.

Judge Holly Spencer is listening to the custody case for Georgia. She is about to give her ruling when a masked gunman burst through the courtroom doors. Chaos ensues. The guard is shot and the gunman goes towards Holly and Crawford, who is providing cover for Holly. It seems like the shooter is after Holly but Crawford prevents anything from happening to her.

Now the shooter is dead but Crawford doesn't believe that he was the real shooter. And now suspicion has fallen on Crawford. Holly and Crawford will team up to find out what is going on and who the real target is.

Another fabulous read by Sandra Brown. Her characters and stories are always great reads. Her newest one is Sting. I can't wait to read it.
